About Us

A commentary on Politics, Policy, and Culture.

bhārat (“descended from emperor Bharata”, India) is home to the World’s oldest continuing civilization. Its people have a long cherished history of dialogue or vaarta, free from orthodoxy. Complex ideas on politics, policy, and culture were discussed threadbare with an acute emphasis on seeking, rather than believing. This tradition continues unfettered even today in the many bylanes and bazaars and the WhatsApp groups that capture our time and imagination.

bhāratvaarta brings together diverse perspectives on matters that impact India and its people. The longform format offers the necessary time and space to unpack complex ideas in a way that doesn’t feel too clever or constrained. You will hear from Academics, Entrepreneurs, Technologists, Professionals and other types of people who defy descriptions about ideas that matter. To that end, we hope it’s a worthy endeavor. You could write to us at admin@bharatvaarta.in.
